New Forums Coming Soon

I have had quite a bit of complaints regarding the forums over the last couple of months. Originally I thought that these would help build a community to work on this project together. It failed.

I have been told they are garbage, hard to use, weird, stupid and a whole lot of other nice adjectives that I probably shouldn't mention here.

So I have listened to your requests and I decided to take some action. I am in the process of putting up some new forums with all the fancy bells and whistles you have come to know and love in such products as phpBB and vBulletin.

Once these new forums are in place and have been setup I would like to start migrating users towards that direction. Unfortunately there is no way to migrate the existing content. That will all need to be done from anew.

So please be patient and kind in your words and emails to me. They are coming.

Go to the forums and post

Go to the forums and post requests there. Tell me what you need and how you would like it. That's the only way to get it added.

And if you think things are complicated now, just wait until you see the AJAX forms. :: smile ::

At this point what you have

At this point what you have done almost works for me. But there are features I see in the API I need that have no idea how to add like Private Auction, an ability to add to a store category, and enabling GTC, which you currently have commented out.

I'll keep staring at it blankly...but if you knew a way for people to tinker with what you have done to add features they see available in the API that would be cool.

Thanks,
Austen

Mess? I am not sure what

Mess? I am not sure what you are trying to do. There is no reason to be messing with eBatNS unless you are trying to make custom calls. If you do change what ya got you will have to recertify ALP yourself.

You might want to open a thread on the forum to get some help.

There are very good reasons why no one wanted to do this for free...OOP is one of them, eBay API is the other.

code unapproachable

to the novice the code which this stuff is based i.e. EbatNs seems to be very poorly documented and I find approaching this stuff say even to tinker with a very small thing quite difficult. I think part of the confusion is the oop involved which is tricky. I'm still wondering how the heck the php gets translated into XML. Reading up on SOAP has just made me utterly confused. Just wondering the best way to get a handle on this mess....
